Riverside Class II (Andrew)

In May of 2002 we were contacted by a 30-year-old female that we will call Misty. She first e-mailed us and explained that we would probably think she was crazy (You get that alot in this field.) But there were some extremely odd things happening at her riverside home. Misty went on to tell us in her e-mail that she personally had seen objects moving in her kitchen and bedroom of their own accord and that many times she had heard her name called in a masculine voice, and could we please come and check out her home.

We decided to take this case for two reasons. Reason 1: Her genuine attitude to the alleged phenomena was not one of the (active imagination types.) and reason 2: She did not automatically assume that anything paranormal in nature was indeed happening, merely unexplained.

After our structural and historical analysis of the premises, we determined that the home had been built in the late 30's,and that there had never been any known reported disturbances in said home.

We scheduled an interview with Misty the following week and uncovered some rather telltale signs. In a nutshell her previous boyfriend had been abusive to both her and her 10-year-old son that we will call Derrick. After her boyfriend moved out the alleged PKE activity began occurring. We politely inquired if we could ask Derrick a few routine questions and that while doing so would she mind if another member of our team took some "scientific readings" from the areas in the home that she stated the alleged activity took place.

While interviewing Derrick Dr. Conner introduced himself as Dr. Kevin Conner. This was not an attempt to lie to Derrick and served a very valuable purpose, as you will soon see. Dr. Conner asked all the standard questions and Derrick continued to refer to his friend "Andrew." When asked if Andrew was one of his child friends he responded, "No Kevin, he's like my Gramps." Derrick also mentioned that sometimes Andrew got upset with his mom because she didn't protect him from the abusive boyfriend we will call Mark.

The proverbial lightbulb went off in both Dr. Conner and Crow's respective heads. We're more than likely dealing with a standard Class II. But rather than jump to conclusions Doctor Conner decided that the preliminary investigation and interview were enough for that day and scheduled with Misty a follow-up interview.

After reviewing the data and testimonies of Misty and her son, and looking at the photographs, EMF,TIR, and FSLP, readings taken from several locations within the rooms of the home we discovered that definite activity had been occurring while we were there.

During the follow-up investigations Derrick was in the backyard playing when Dr. Conner, Crow, and Adrienne were in the child's bedroom. All heard a distinct male voice whisper Kevin.Kevin..Kevin.. Three times and the hair stood up on all of our necks. Dr. Sean felt a slight icy tap on the shoulders by an unknown hand. The EMF metre did not jump one bit however; the TIR registered a 10-degree drop in ambient temp within the immediate area and then levelled out normal. About 3 seconds after that the bedroom door slammed shut.

We had now personally experienced the PKE activity and had also concluded that we were definitely dealing with a Class II repeater. We have found that due to the nature of most Class II activity, or Standard Poltergeist activity, the best thing to do from this point is to gently explain the common theory of what a Class II is; and suggest that due to the subconscious nature of the manifestations of PKE it would be a good idea for the child to begin sessions with a psychologist so that he/she can begin to help the child cope with the trauma of the abuse.

Misty of course was relieved to hear that there wasn't some "Spirit" walking around her home but merely the PKE from her child's subconscious. Dr. Conner also explained that the reason he introduced himself to the child as "Kevin" was to harmlessly imprint that name into the child’s subconscious so that if indeed this were a Class II and it became audible the name used would be Kevin, not Sean. If the entity had been a non residual Class III it would have "heard" Dr. Conner introduce himself to Misty as, Sean and not Kevin.

We received a follow-up e-mail from Misty a few months later and she stated that, after her son began his sessions with a psychologist, and just as we had suggested, the PKE from "Andrew" has subsided and that Derrick told her that "Andrew went back home momma."

This was our second Class II case, and fortunately the case can be considered as closed. Unlike our first Class II investigation that is 2 years old and still open to this day...
